If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Derrika Hunt at dreamer4change@berkeley.edu.

What is Passports4Change?

Passports4Change is a program designed by Dreamers4Change Foundation and it is built on the premise of travel as a vital tool of learning. Passports4Change is NOT a study abroad program. It is NOT a luxury trip. It is NOT a destination trip. It IS a learning experience that utilizes travel to explore the intersections of race, class, gender, citizenship on other intersecting oppressions. We work toward articulating our own politics of location, then we move toward situating ourselves in the global world, then we investigate how colonialism, imperialism and other political formations often determine and shape our lives. We end our program with an emphasis on imagination, vision-making, and creating. We know the world we imagine will not emerge without work and so we ground our program in doing the work.

Who hosts Passports4Change?

Passports4Change is hosted by Dreamers4Change Foundation a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Dreamers4Change Foundation was founded by Derrika Hunt as a community organization in Pompano Beach, FL.

What are the trip dates?

July 22, 2018 – July 30, 2018 (we depart South Africa July 30, 2018 so we arrive back to the US July 31, 2018)

Where are you going?

Our 2018 destination is the beautiful country of South Africa! We will be visiting several cities and historical sites.

Do I have to pay for my trip?

At Dreamers4Change Foundation we believe in making our programs accessible to all youth who are interested. We work together to fundraise for all programs. You will not be turned away for lack of funds. It will take hard work and teamwork but we will make it happen through our fundraising efforts. At Dreamers4Change Foundation we firmly believe that money should not limit one’s life chances and all too often it does. Each of our programs operates on the belief that if we are inaccessible to those who have been systemically and economically disadvantaged then we are not doing the work. If you do Dreamer4change Foundation| dreamers4change@gmail.com | (954) 461-9320 not have the resources to travel, if you are from a low-income community, if you have struggled with or live in poverty this program is for you. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you are concerned about the finances of the trip.
