The UHS Riot Club focuses on the intersection of race and feminism. Next month, on Saturday March 17th, Riot will be hosting our inaugural Riot Conference at UHS.
This year’s theme is “Experience, Expression, Empowerment.”
The goal of our conference is to provide a space to empower and encourage young women of color to carry themselves with confidence and explore their passions. Our more immediate goal is to help break down barriers for female students of color that inhibit them from reaching their full potential.
Our conference aims to provide a space to empower and encourage young women of color to become successful figures in their future workplaces and communities. Students who attend will participate in multiple workshops, hear from speaker, Shelly Kapoor Collins (Venture Capitalist who works in funding female tech entrepreneurs) and a special guest keynote speaker, and have the opportunity to speak to a panel of amazing women of color working in medicine, art, politics, and more.
