Seeking Great Teachers, Interns and TAs!

Aim High is seeking teachers for Summer 2014! This is a great opportunity for both seasoned teachers and college and high school students.  Please feel free to forward this announcement widely.

Aim High is the largest academic summer program provider in the Bay Area, operating campuses in San Francisco, Oakland, Marin County, the Peninsula, and in Tahoe/Truckee. The program combines intensive, engaging and challenging academic classes with activities and events that create opportunities for leadership development and community exploration. Students join after 5th or 6th grade, and participate for three or four consecutive summers for free.

This is a great opportunity for both experienced and new teachers because they will all have the chance to gain hands-on experience in leading a classroom, planning lessons, and working collaboratively with other teachers.  Aim High is committed to project-based curriculum and interdisciplinary learning.  Teachers also receive two weeks of professional development before the students arrive.

This is what one teacher at Aim High had to say about his experience working last summer at Aim High, “Aim High provided invaluable experience for someone in the process of getting a teaching credential”.

Aim High also encourages creativity and passion in teaching, helping teachers become more excited about teaching: “Working at Aim High was like going to ‘teacher camp’. I feel energized about teaching and it was an opportunity to learn effective management skills”.
