The 2013 Stephen H. Schneider Award for Outstanding Climate Science Communication will be awarded to Lord Nicholas Stern, former World Bank Chief Economist and Professor of Economics at the London School of Economics. Lord Stern is the author of the highly influential 2006 “Stern Review,” which concluded that climate change is a problem of risk management on an immense and unprecedented scale; the costs of inaction are far greater than the costs of action. This is a two-part event, and Lord Stern will accept the award after we sit down for Carbon Curves with Former NOAA Administrator Jane Lubchenco to discuss the science behind the 2013 IPCC report.
