Squawk Mobile App Team + Internships

Squawk is fun free mobile messaging app that is seeking to help create more fun expressive and personalized ways for people to communicate. We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic high school students to be a part of our Squawk Teen Product Advisory Group.

As a member of squawk’s teen advisory group, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Share your opinions during the process of designing and provide feedback on squawk
  • Learn about and be a part of a startup experience
  • Take part in our “squawkups” monthly meetings to discuss all things squawk. You will gain skills in a variety of areas such as market research, funding, advertising, product design and development.
  • Conduct surveys of teens in San Francisco to see what they think of squawk and what they would want most out of a communication platform
  • Conduct outreach to teens at schools and extracurricular events

Schedule:  Being a member of the Squawk Teen Advisory Group is a serious commitment. Members of the group will be active from March 3, 2013 – September 1, 2013. The Board will meet at least once a month at the squawk office and members will be asked occasionally to attend other events, including weekend and after-school hours. The average monthly time commitment will be approximately 4-10 hours.

Qualifications:  Applicants to the Advisory Board must be currently attending high school in San Francisco. Applicants must show an interest in communication, text on their phone, use social media and are curious about startups. Interest in product design and/ or development (coding) is a plus but in no way required. Must have an iPhone. Sorry we do not support Android phones yet.

Compensation: Members of the Squawk Teen Advisory Board will not be offered any compensation but for those interested in a larger role we have two internship openings. At the meet ups we typically have brunch. You get the ability to see what it is like inside of a startup office and the satisfaction of knowing your voice mattered. What you think directly impacts something we are all building together.
