Aim High intends to shepherd a cohort of our students through the high school admission process with the goal of facilitating powerful placements in high quality independent, parochial, and public schools.  We have designed a series of Saturday workshops to help students gain admission to the school(s) of their choice and help them and their families overcome the following obstacles:

• Unfamiliarity with the application process and its rigor
• Lack of awareness of and financial access to applicant resources (i.e. SSAT preparation, writing tutors, placement counselors)
• Cultural realities that make private school education appear inaccessible to low-income students and students of color.

Time Commitment

The day is divided into two workshop periods: 9:00am-12:00pm and 12:00pm-2:00pm.  Mentors are only needed from 9am -12pm as the students will be receiving SSAT prep from 12pm – 2pm.

The Aim High workshops will begin on Saturday, October 6^th.  Our hope is that mentors will join us on that day and will participate every Saturday through the middle of December 1^st (with the exception of Thanksgiving weekend).
