This workshop is an introduction to one of our most innovative programs, Street Parks. The Street Parks program enables folks like you all to adopt unused or underutilized parcels of city property – mostly Public Works owned – and turn them into the community spaces you need most. Think beautiful tiled stairways like Athens Avalon and the Moraga Hidden Garden Steps, gardens like Pennsylvania Street Gardens and Connecticut Friendship Garden or even community spaces that bring together greenery and art like Tunnel Top Park and Kenny Alley.
If you are interested in starting a Street Park in your area, meeting other neighborhood advocates or just learning more about our work, please join us Oct 20th at City College from 9am to 3pm. Workshop includes breakfast, lunch, expert speakers and a tour of current Street Park sites. RSVP at sfparksalliance.org/ streetparksworkshop
