Teen Art Connect (TAC) brings together high school students from diverse backgrounds for a year-long paid internship at The CJM. Students from all Bay Area high schools who are entering grades 10–12 in fall 2018 can apply.
TACs provide Museum visitors with fun & educational experiences and help make The Museum a vibrant place for visitors of all ages. TACs will:
- Learn about The Museum’s exhibitions and architecture
- Learn about jobs and careers available in the arts
- Greet the public and provide information about The Museum
- Lead architecture and select exhibition tours
- Assist with The Museum’s Family Programs
- Plan and promote events for teens and young adults
- Assist in The Museum’s offices
- Create meaningful connections with peers and mentors
Requirements
Must be a high school student, entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grade.
- Interest in many of the following: art, culture, museums, architecture, Judaism, intercultural dialogue, education, customer service, public speaking, leadership, event planning, marketing, community engagment
- Must be responsible, reliable, enthusiastic, friendly, curious, and open-minded
- Ability to check email, voicemail, and/or text messages daily
- Must be willing to commit to the following:
June 13–22: Summer training intensive (10am–4pm, Mon–Fri)
July–August: Three trainings (Sundays 3–5:30pm)
August–May: Trainings twice a month (Sundays 3–5:30pm) and work 2–6 hours minimum per week.
Compensation and Benefits
TACs are paid minimum wage for all trainings and work hours completed. Additional benefits include:
