Do you know a young woman seeking academic support and mentoring?
In honor of Robbie Engelmann, a beloved mother, gifted therapist, teacher, and advocate of the underserved, the Tutor Corps Foundation awards scholarships to provide a year of complimentary tutoring for lower income young women.
Robbie cared deeply about creating opportunities for young women. The Robbie Engelmann Memorial Scholarship funds one-on-one tutoring for five students for the academic year. The scholarship recipients will meet once a week with a tutor to receive consistent academic support along with mentoring to build confidence and self-esteem.
Applicants must be female students, live in the San Francisco Bay Area, be in 5th through 12th grade, demonstrate a financial need for tutoring and be recommended by a teacher and parent. We are currently accepting applications for the 2016-2017 academic year, with an application deadline of June 1st, 2016. Applicants will be notified of awards by July 1st, 2016.
To apply, please download the scholarship application form or fill out the form online. If you are filling out the form online, you will additionally need to download these three forms (not available online):
