Students in grades 4th-5th, 6th-8th, and high school
are encouraged to send ONE poem no longer than 25 lines.
Our theme this year is: THE POWER of PEACE.
Here are some things to think about . . .
How can peace be powerful?
How would you “paint” a picture of peace?
How would you make your city or town more peaceful?
If you were a world leader, how would you create peace?
How can peace bring greater social justice?
Where is the most peaceful place your know?
What brings you peace?
Write in whatever style you like. Use any voice you want (you can be a bird for example, or a spaceship, or your own wonderful self). Be creative, imaginative, visionary, and most of all, enjoy writing your poem! Bilingual submissions are welcome (English translations are requested).
