Did you know that 2,200 students in San Francisco schools don’t have a permanent home, and may spend tonight at a shelter, relative’s house, motel, or in a car? You can help make an impact in the lives of homeless teens and children whose families are living in difficult situations.
The reasons teens and their families become homeless can vary from job loss, to mental health issues, to fleeing domestic violence situations. Home Away is an innovative organization offering diverse support and respite programs for children of homeless families in the Bay Area. Home Away’s Service Leadership Program focuses on fundraising and advancement. The program fosters leadership and confidence, and teaches teens the importance of helping others.
Beyond this program there are many other ways to get involved in the great work Home Away is doing. Check out the variety of volunteer opportunities they provide.
