Roughing It Day Camp is currently looking for C.I.L.T.s (Campers In Leadership Training) for this coming summer. C.I.L.T.s are teens entering 9th or 10th grade that get to spend their summer having fun in an outdoor camp environment while also learning and acquiring leadership skills and experience.
Roughing It Day Camp is a traditional, all outdoors day camp based at the Lafayette Reservoir dedicated to providing quality programs for children for over 40 years. The C.I.L.T. program provides special training and hands-on leadership opportunities in different camp activities with a variety of age groups. Our high school students gain leadership skills and also get to participate in many of the teen camper activities. Each week you get a chance to assist with a group of campers between 4½ to 10 years of age, helping lead and plan camp activities. Your counselor and our staff will give you ongoing feedback and evaluate your progress as a leader. You spend every day with your CILT group and counselor learning various aspects of leadership while also enjoying fun camp activities with your own age group.
Many of our best staff members have completed the CILT program. Those who successfully finish the CILT program are offered positions as Junior Counselors and have the opportunity of being hired as a staff member for the future!
