Youth Umpiring Program

Program                                                                                                                                               San Francisco Little League is a youth baseball program for residents of San Francisco age 6-18. Youth umpires are used in the majority of our kid-pitch divisions. Games are played at fields across the City on weeknights (usually 5:30) and all day on weekends.

Requirements                                                                                                                          Candidates for the youth umpire program must be willing to meet the following requirements: Youths age 13-17 are eligible to be paid for umpiring after attending our mandatory training sessions. Returning or otherwise demonstrably experienced umpires between the ages of 18 and 21 who are still students may also be eligible for our paid program at the league’s discretion. Youth umpires can only umpire games involving players younger than themselves.

Benefits                                                                                                                                           Youth umpires are paid $30 per game ($45 for Juniors division baseball games). The program is an excellent way to develop leadership, responsability, and confidence. Umpires who show commitment and dedication may be eligible for letters of recommendation.
