Costume Team: Changing the Face of Productions at Lick

If you attended the spring production of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, your eyes were probably drawn to the magnificent array of Day-Glo costumes and spectacular outfits worn by each character. This year, the costume team endeavored to create the greatest production wardrobe to ever exist.  Faced with the challenge of feminizing many characters (which called for the discarding of traditional Wonka costumes), the costume designers proved successful with the meticulously fashioned Oompa Loompa jumpers and the fabulous candy-shoe and polka dot dress ensemble worn by Ms. Wonka herself. The team also created impressive hand-stitched squirrel costumes. Overall, the group of four girls (Phoebe Gillan ’14, Stefania Ruibal ’15, Danya Rubenstein-Markiewicz ’15 and your humble author), under the guidance of Sibilia Carini, triumphed as the greatest costume team this school (and the rest of the world) has ever seen.
