The Stanford University Black Student Union’s Youth Empowerment Conference is an annual conference that brings over 500 high school students from the Bay Area and beyond to Stanford. This year marks the 20th anniversary of our conference which serves as a focal point of mentorship, scholarship, and empowerment of Black youth. The event consists of student-led workshops, student performers, and a keynote speaker. Our hope is that students leave the conference with a desire to strive for higher learning, with a love for their own unique form of Blackness, and with the knowledge that the Black undergraduates of Stanford are not only willing to work hard for them but also engage with them.
The 2019 Conference will take place on Saturday, April 6th, 2019, and our theme for the conference will be “BOOST: Building Our Own Stories.”
