High School Research Volunteer
Summary
The High School Research Volunteer will explore and research a variety of designated topics for Workshops for the People while developing a descriptive report of their findings.
Responsibilities and Activities
- Coordinates with business management to determine research objectives
- Works in accordance to project brief and deliver frequent project updates
- Develops and directs given research assignments
- Creates a plan of action, sets project goals, and manages them to completion
- Conducts detailed research of designated subject matter according to W4tP needs
- Formulates effective and efficient research processes
- Identifies market trends and patterns
- Compiles and organizes findings into graphs, charts, mock-ups, and diagrams
- Documents, reports, and presents research findings to management
Requirements and Qualifications
- Proficiency with computer usage, including email, Internet, and Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Effective communicator both orally and written
- Performs objective and ethical research at all times
- Ability to pay strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
Volunteering Support for Dr. Charles Drew College Prep Academy Elementary School:
1) Support with creating gifts/goodie bags for teachers (supplies provided) – remotely
2) Writing thank you, birthday, and appreciation cards (someone with good hand writing) – remotely
3) Support with posting social media/newsletter articles resources (someone with good grammar) – remote
4) Support with event set up/take down (e.g., graduation, staff appreciation/luncheons, etc. – on site
5) Clean up of staff lounge and gardening in staff lounge garden 1x week – on site
6) Make copies and other admin tasks for teachers – on site
7) Open to other volunteering ideas
