Mark your calendar to join us at the San Mateo County Office of Education (SMCOE) for a one day conference on Schools for a Sustainable Future! This conference will equip educators with the knowledge, skills, and values needed for moving this work forward across a school’s Campus and Operations, Curriculum and Instruction, and Community and Culture. It will also create the space for networking, problem solving, and exchanging innovative solutions that are driving environmental and social transformation across school communities.
This will be a great opportunity to learn and network with a community of practitioners and leaders committed to advancing environmental literacy across San Mateo County and beyond. This one-day conference will begin with a message of hope from the North American Director of One Planet Schools, and then move into breakout sessions which feature local stories from districts and schools across the county that are taking inspirational action across their campuses, curriculums, and communities. The conference will come to a close with Jackie Nunez, founder of The Last Plastic Straw, and the mini documentary STRAWS, which will serve as a great resource for people to take back into their community and jump start a meaningful students centered campaign.
