Welcome to the Habitat Student Ambassadors Program! We’re excited to have your
participation in the 2017/18 school year as we roll out this brand new outreach effort. As one of our Student Ambassadors, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the program. Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco depends on volunteer participation for its success, and we want to give student volunteers the opportunity to expand our success in new and unique ways.
As one of our Student Ambassadors, you’ll not only help us spread the word about Habitat—you’ll gain valuable experience in volunteering, research, writing, media creation, or public speaking. As you design a service learning project around your skills and abilities, we’ll work with you on fine-tuning it and meeting your service hours requirement.
Design a service learning project geared toward your interests. Is housing justice in the Bay Area at the top of your mind? Are you an avid urban farmer committed to community gardens? Does hands-on home repair and park clean-up reward you with a sense of accomplishment? Maybe you’re enthusiastic about photography and would like to apply your skills capturing our events? Or perhaps your passion lies in research and data analysis?
Browse our volunteer calendar to spark some ideas. Or tell us your own thoughts on
developing a project, and we’ll be happy to work with you! What really excites us about HSA is hearing fresh ideas from people committed to housing justice.
At the end of your service learning project, you’ll write an essay, or give a
PowerPoint/class presentation, create a photography portfolio, wage a social media campaign, shoot and edit a short video… or give us your own ideas on how we can improve our programs!
