Next month, on Saturday April 29th, Riot will be hosting our inaugural Riot Conference at UHS. This year’s theme is “Break the Glass.” Riot club’s Break The Glass Conference is an event for young women of color who attend select private independent schools in the Bay Area (please see below to view the full list of participating schools).
Our conference aims to provide a space to empower and encourage young women of color to become successful figures in their future workplaces and communities. Students who attend will participate in multiple workshops, hear from speakers Brittany Packnett (Vice President, National Community Alliances, Teach For America) and Moogega C. Stricker (Planetary Protection Engineer at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory), and have the opportunity to speak to a panel of amazing women of color working in medicine, art, politics, and more.
We are reaching out to you to invite your female students of color to our conference! Please share this message with any applicable students. Online applications are due by March 31st, 2017, at 2:30 PM: https://goo.gl/forms/ IQmG3VUtxjaJ5HuV2
