The Rho Delta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is pleased to announce their 27th Annual Black College Awareness Fair. This signature event will be held at Stanford University’s Tresidder Memorial Union on Saturday, January 28, 2017. Registration begins at 9:30 AM (continental breakfast will be served), and the fair program begins promptly at 10:00 AM. Students and parents will have the opportunity to:
- Meet representatives from Historically Black Colleges and Universities;
- Meet representatives from local colleges and universities;
- Listen to panel discussions by recent graduates on life at an HBCU; and
- Obtain valuable college resource and scholarship information.
Fantastic guest speakers and entertainment joining us this year include:
- Azariah Cole Sheppard, 2016 Oakland Youth Poet Laureate will deliver poems and spoken word that reflect the youth of color;
- Drs. Reginald and Ronald Richardson, Co-Principals at San Leandro High School, have space to inform and inspire youth leadership roles with an educational and social justice lens;
- Returning for the second year in a row, the award winning Bret Harte Middle School Step Team will literally “kick-off” the event.
