Have you ever wanted to engage directly with our elected officials on issues impacting you, your friends, and your community? Or can you think of a young person who’s got the passion and patience to deliver change on a city-wide level? Now may be the time for you or the young person you know to apply to sit on the 2016-17 San Francisco Youth Commission!
All applicants (12-23) who apply will have the chance to interview with us. It is a friendly, open process where groups of potential commissioners come to City Hall, ask questions and receive a brief presentation from current Youth Commissioners, do a fun mock budget activity, and have brief 1-1 interview sessions with youth commissioners, adult allies, and staff. Please apply or share with the inspirational young people you know; it would be our honor to meet you!
To apply, fill out the application (i.e., personal information, applicant agreement, and essay questions) and turn it in to the Youth Commission (by fax, email, regular mail or in person). The application is due by Friday, April 22nd by 6pm (for hard copies) or by Sunday, April 24th (for emailed or faxed copies).
