10:30am – 11:30am Gathering at Lake Merritt Amphitheater – Music, welcoming, Logistical overview of the day as lining up contingents
Noon – 1pm March along 12th or 14th St to Frank Ogawa/Oscar Grant Plaza (Oakland Civic Center/City Hall – approx 10 city blocks) Theatrical events
1 – 3pm Rally – Speakers (10 minutes per), Music, Spoken Word – Pavilion with art activities
There will be various opportunities for volunteers. Check out the mass mobilization website for more details on how to get involved.
– building props; banker collar and tie with velcro strap, gold bars, ‘rising water’ decorations with all things aquatic (see attached image below)
– performing as bankers piling up the gold, shifting the CO2 and Temp meters, people pulling up the ‘water’ (rotating group, and will encourage kids to take a turn as they pass by in the march)
– performers to chant simple two line script The time is Now x2 Return the Carbon to the Soil x2 or one they come up with themselves
– join flash mob dance – will send video when available
– wearing a green Carbon Ally T-Shirt and handing out Carbon cards to kids (working on a silk screen for Carbon Ally) – need an old T-shirt
– building and wearing a tree costume and handing O2 cards to kids, who will then partner them with their C, and return to you as CO2 – you will separate (velcro?) and give them O2
– memorize or hold single page script (attached below) speak through megaphone in English or Spanish or Mandarin or Cantonese or Korean or
