When
We are proud to announce the arrival of GINternational, a Global Issues Network Conference hosted by International High School in the San Francisco Bay Area, to be held on November 6th – 7th, 2015! This will be the first conference of its kind in California.
What is Global Issues Network all about?
The Global Issues Network, or GIN, is a non-profit platform designed to create a sustainable future. Through this forum, high school students from around the world present projects aiming to solve global issues in their community, such as climate change or human trafficking, among others. So far, this organization has touched the lives of more than 80,000 young adults at 50+ student-led international conferences, from over 100 different nationalities.
What opportunities does a GIN conference offer to students and teachers?
At the conference, we will welcome approximately 200 students to share a service project with other high schools around the world, showing how they have impacted their local or global community. Student led workshops will include a presentation of their project and a hands-on activity or group discussion. IH Students facilitate small think-tanks from different schools to share and imagine different ways they can engage their school and community. Teachers will come together during Meeting of the Minds to connect and collaborate. We will also feature influential speakers whose dedication have paved the way for positive change regarding global issues.
Why is it important for your students to get involved in this global network of change-makers?
We believe these conferences give students, like us, the opportunity to become leaders within our community. As a network of empowered engaged global citizens who are committed to solving major global problems that could affect us in the future. We would love for you to join us in developing and creating tomorrow’s global thinkers and lifelong stewards of the earth!
