Ready, Set, Connect! Oakland Public Library’s Teen Job Training Program, Due September 22

Ready, Set, Connect!, a workforce development program provided by the Oakland Public Library and Community Technology Network, is now accepting applications for the 2015-2016 school year. Ready, Set, Connect! provides free technology and leadership job training to 20 youth between the ages of 16-24 from Alameda County. Participants gain valuable work experience as computer tutors at the Main Library and library branch computer labs. Ready, Set, Connect! begins in October and ends on June 2, 2016. Apply online at:http://bit.ly/RSCApply by September 22, 2015.

Ready, Set, Connect! participants will learn how to use graphic and web technologies, as well as social media and graphic design tools. Youth are mentored by employees at Bay Area technology companies, receiving help in resume creation, job search skills and interviewing.
