Apply to work for SOL this summer!
The internship will include a mix of hands on practical skills about growing and cooking food as well as discussions about issues affecting our community in Oakland. Trainings and topics include:
****** Food Justice: What it means to eat food grown locally? What it means to have access to culturally relevant foods?
****** Community Education: Learn about issues affecting our community now such as immigration, criminalization of youth, and access to food.
****** Community Connection: Meet other community organizations, gardens and people working for justice in our community
Eligibility:
You must be a high school student to apply. This includes people who graduated from 8th grade or 12th grade this year.
We will need a personal reference and an interview.
Internship Details:
Salary: $12/hour, 8 hours total per week
Dates: Must be available during the weeks of July 1st to July 18th, 2014
