The Summer Institute on International Affairs provides high school and community college students with in-depth study and training on today’s global issues. Taking place over the course of seven weeks, this seminar style program allows students to experience council events, engage with like-minded peers and practice research, writing and speaking skills. The program is designed to be interactive, with students learning about the world through policy simulations, debates, presentations and speaker interviews.
The 2014 Summer Institute will meet from the week of June 23 through August 4, 2014.
Last year, topics included the war in Syria, escaping North Korea, famine in Africa, UN Security Council reform, the fall of the Soviet Union, the Arab/Israeli conflict, and more! To read about last year’s Institute, visit our blog.
Applications are available online and are due on Tuesday, May 27, 2014.
