Vanguard Conference 2013

Saturday April 20, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM Bentley School is hosting an empowering, enriching and engaging conference on the Upper School campus in Lafayette, CA, focused on the opportunities and importance of educating African-American male students from around the country

The Vanguard Conference 2013 on the theme “Success and Service” will feature:

 -Keynote address from Fred Blackwell: former Executive Director of the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency, Deputy Director of the Mayor’s Office of Community Engagement and current Assistant City Administrator of the city of Oakland.

A performance by world-renowned spoken word artist Brandon Santiago and program associate at YouthSpeaks.

 -Workshop sessions led by:

-Ike Eze: established executive, founder of freecreditreport.com, current CEO of Centrro inc., and advisor of the global non-profit, The African Network. (TAN).

-Bill Thomson: established entrepreneur, published author, founder of WSW urban financial literacy program, Managing Partner of the E3 Innovation fund, and current Venture partner at Legacy Impact Capital, a Community Development Venture Capital firm.
