Stanford EXPLORE: A Lecture Series on Biomedical Research

The Stanford Explore Lecture Series is an exploratory series covering the
fundamentals and current research areas represented in the five Institutes in
the School of Medicine (Immunology, Neuroscience, Cardiovascular Medicine,
Regenerative and Stem Cell Medicine and Cancer Biology). Most of the lectures
are given by Stanford graduate students and postdoctoral fellows with some
lectures from select Faculty. Lectures covers topics from all 5 Stanford
Institutes and includes topics such as “Careers in science and medicine” and
“Applying to college, graduate and medical school.”

The fee to attend is $750 for one week or $2,000 for three weeks. Only 9th
through 12th grade students are encouraged to register for the program. If space
allows, we will contact the younger students who filled out the initial survey.
We expect all students to have taken at least one year of high school biology.
We also strongly recommend that students have finished an A.P. Biology course
before enrolling (but this is not required).

Deadline: June 18, 2012
